KOSOVO / THE PUBLICATION ROOM

Take responsibility for a website with its actual history in view.

A careful assessment before ongoing care or a targeted repair.

Establish what can be maintained.

An existing website comes with content relationships, hosting accounts and editing practices as well as code. We first establish who controls those assets and what the organisation needs to preserve. This assessment informs whether a repair, a limited takeover or a separate rebuild is realistic.

Useful starting material includes the current public routes, the available source, hosting information and a description of how staff publish. Please do not send passwords or confidential records through the initial enquiry form. We agree a suitable access method if the project proceeds.

Preserve a publication’s public reference.

Consider a fictional organisation changing its website supplier. Its report pages are cited in partners’ websites and printed materials. A new design should not discard those references without examining what each route represents. Some URLs can continue serving the same material; genuine replacements may need specific redirects; unrelated pages should not be sent to the homepage as a substitute.

We compare the old public journey with the proposed one and record exceptions for the owner to decide. The same care applies to language branches and direct document links, which may never appear in the main navigation.

Agree an operational handover.

A bounded care agreement can include update responsibilities, backups, a recovery method, content support and a defined response process. Availability and service terms require a separate agreement; this page does not promise a response time. The handover should identify the person who can approve changes after launch.

Tell us about the website and the access you currently have.
