KOSOVO / THE PUBLICATION ROOM

Repair a barrier in the task a reader needs to complete.

Practical accessibility work with a defined review scope.

Begin with an observable difficulty.

A reader may be unable to identify a language link, move through a publication list by keyboard or understand which PDF a link opens. We investigate the actual route and propose changes that can be assessed against that task. A single automated score does not describe the whole experience.

Work can include document structure, keyboard interaction, focus visibility, link names, contrast and responsive text. The assessment records which pages and states were examined and what remains outside the scope. We do not promise universal compliance from a small sample.

Follow a publication from navigation to attachment.

In a hypothetical resource library, a keyboard user reaches a group of three links all called “Download”. The page may look clear visually, yet the links are difficult to distinguish without the surrounding layout. We can give each link a useful name containing the publication and edition, and test the interaction in context.

The attachment remains a separate part of the journey. Improving the HTML record does not make an inaccessible PDF accessible. We identify that boundary and agree whether document remediation is part of this project or belongs to a specialist.

Deliver changes the team can maintain.

The result can include fixes in templates, examples for editors and a focused verification record. Testing with appropriate assistive technology and users may be needed for the project’s acceptance criteria. Those reviews are scoped and recorded explicitly.

Describe the barrier or route you want investigated.
